A Message from LM’s President & CEO

Hello!
Today marks my three-year anniversary here at Leadership Montgomery, but on July 1st, I added a new first day when I became the third President & CEO for the organization.

I am excited for the future of our organization and look forward to addressing the challenges and opportunities that we face as we continue to come out of the pandemic.

July 1st also marked the beginning of our new fiscal year and there are so many things keeping us energized and committed to connection, leadership, and inspiration. Here are just a few:

  • Our new board chair, Crystal Carr Townsend, President of the Healthcare Initiative Foundation along with our new (and returning!) board members – thank you
  • The return to a full in-person program year for the COREEmerging Leaders, and Senior Leadership Montgomery class of 2022 (along with a coordination of events and offerings in the form of a program extension for the class of 2021)
  • Three signature events- Homecoming (September 29th at Smokey Glen Farm), Corporate Volunteer Awards Luncheon (January 2022), and the LEAD Forum (June 2022)

We recognize the important role that we play in the county and always connect it back to our mission- to educate, inspire, convene, and connect leaders to advance Montgomery County. While we have added programming and trainings to meet the needs of leaders over the past few years, we have fundamentally remained the same LM. Over the coming months though, we will be taking time to stop, listen, and think about our vision, purpose, and strategic priorities.

You will hear me say this often, but it can never be said enough- thank you to the LM team (Alison, Channon, Jani, Kaarmin, and Wylea) for the commitment, creativity, and expertise you bring to the work that we do.

To our graduates and members, I thank you for your continued encouragement and endless interest in growth- whether it be in knowledge about the county; your professional and personal networks; or ways to impact those around you. We’re here to support you.

And with our partners, sponsors, and funders, we will continue to provide opportunities to convene, create new relationships, and build capacity to adapt and move forward. We are grateful for the role that you play in making a positive impact. I can’t wait to see you in person soon!

Warm regards,

Dana Pauley
