Alumni Corner:
w/ Alison McLaughlin

After almost four years at LM, I am pleased to begin my new role as Senior Manager, Alumni Engagement. While I had the privilege of meeting many of you in my previous role managing events and special programs, I am excited to take this opportunity to get to know more of you on a deeper level. I am committed to ensuring our alums feel engaged and excited.

Thanks to your feedback, you have identified the desire to deepen your leadership skills and strengthen your connections in the community. In our new strategic plan, we’ve outlined a goal to build personal and professional relationships of our alumni while enhancing your leadership through continuous learning opportunities. Therefore, you will see us transition from using the term “membership’ to using the term “alumni engagement”. We have revamped our engagement levels to offer you many ways to stay involved and connect not just with other alumni but with our current Leadership Program classes. We are also pleased to offer accelerated engagement opportunities such as Leadership Solves events, Learning Enhancements, and the chance to shadow current CORE or EL session days.

The last two years have been challenging for all of us. During that time, we worked hard to continue engaging with alumni, offering over 40 engagement opportunities over Zoom, including Town Halls, Educational series, CEO Conversations, and annual events like Homecoming and The LEAD Forum. As we continue to emerge, we are thrilled to begin the fiscal year with a new strategic plan that will guide our organization in this post-pandemic world. With that, we are excited to bring back our beloved events in-person like Homecoming, Delegation Reception, Breakfast with the County Council, and (to name a few).

My goal is to provide you with best-in-class service to ensure and sustain the value of your engagement. I want to better acquaint myself with LM Alumni, learn about their impact within the county, and tell them more about our unique engagement opportunities and events. Don’t hesitate to contact me if you are ever available and want to meet for a coffee, lunch, or Zoom call.

I look forward to connecting with you….it’s time to RENEW!
