In the Racial Equity Workshops (REI), led by the Racial Equity Institute, LLC, participants interactively explore perspectives on race, racism, and racial and ethnic disparities. With a wealth of historical, economic, and other data, skilled facilitators from the Racial Equity Institute will foster thoughtful analysis and dialogue. Participants typically garner insights that are both profound and practical for understanding and choosing the roles we play when it comes to equity in America, our communities, and our organizations.

AARP – The Mental Health of Older Adults in Maryland

AARP volunteer and accredited mental health researcher Michael Friedman will discuss trends in mental health as we age; where the gaps in resources and treatments exist; preventive measures; and how COVID 19 brought to light the true consequences of social isolation. Learn how you can become an advocate for Marylanders and help combat issues around access to treatment, stigma, and inequities in care.

Corporate Volunteer Awards Luncheon

Held in late winter/early spring, Leadership Montgomery’s Corporate Volunteer Awards Luncheon, recognizes local businesses in four categories – Emerging/Evolving Volunteer Program, Innovative Volunteer Program, Well Workplace and Partnership of the Year – for their support to the Montgomery County community through employee volunteer engagement. The award winners, chosen by an ad-hoc committee, have demonstrated a true passion for community involvement. Additionally, CVC Award is presented to one business, organization, or individual for outstanding service in Montgomery County.

The LEAD Forum

During this full-day leadership conference, attendees will have the opportunity to LEARN more about the county; ENGAGE with other leaders; AMPLIFY critical skills and DEVELOP the surrounding community. Leadership Montgomery Family Picnic

Sponsored and hosted by Smokey Glen Farm and Jim Sweet (CORE 2007), our popular annual event invites the Leadership Montgomery network to enjoy good food and mingle with fellow members of the LM community. This event features a casual and delicious outdoor BBQ dinner in a gorgeous farm setting that features landscaped meadows and beautiful shade trees. This is a great opportunity for members to bring the kids, grandkids, partners, spouses and significant others to enjoy a fun and relaxing evening.
