Virtual Racial Equity Workshop

This two-day workshop, facilitated by Racial Equity Institute, is designed to develop the capacity of participants to better understand racism in its institutional and structural forms. Topics covered include the fish/lake/groundwater analysis of structural racism; understanding and controlling implicit bias; race, poverty, and place; markedness theory; institutional power arrangements and power brokers and more.

Corporate Volunteer Awards Luncheon
Held in late winter/early spring, Leadership Montgomery’s Corporate Volunteer Awards Luncheon, recognizes local businesses in four categories – Emerging/Evolving Volunteer Program, Innovative Volunteer Program, Well Workplace and Partnership of the Year – for their support to the Montgomery County community through employee volunteer engagement. The award winners, chosen by an ad-hoc committee, have demonstrated a true passion for community involvement. Additionally, CVC Award is presented to one business, organization, or individual for outstanding service in Montgomery County.
The LEAD Forum
During this full-day leadership conference, attendees will have the opportunity to LEARN more about the county; ENGAGE with other leaders; AMPLIFY critical skills and DEVELOP the surrounding community. The goal of this forum is to give participants the tools of action needed to better prepare themselves to continue on the path of servant leadership. Save the date: June 11, 2021
Homecoming
Who says you can’t go home again? This October event welcomes the new CORE, Senior Leadership Montgomery and Emerging Leaders cohorts to the Leadership Montgomery network. It is also an opportunity to hear an annual update of the organization’s work, accomplishments and goals, as well as a chance to network with previous LM participants and other notable community influencers.
Leadership Montgomery Family Picnic
Sponsored and hosted by Smokey Glen Farm and Jim Sweet (CORE 2007), our popular annual event invites the Leadership Montgomery network to enjoy good food and mingle with fellow members of the LM community. This event features a casual and delicious outdoor BBQ dinner in a gorgeous farm setting that features landscaped meadows and beautiful shade trees. This is a great opportunity for members to bring the kids, grandkids, partners, spouses and significant others to enjoy a fun and relaxing evening.
