Leadership Montgomery Recognizes Small Business Week
Rockville, MD– The Corporate Volunteer Council (CVC), a program of Leadership Montgomery (LM), recognizes the value of the local small business community in honor of national Small Business Week (May 5-11, 2019). Leadership Montgomery’s CVC connects businesses of every size, and professionals, to structured volunteer and community engagement opportunities in Montgomery County.
We take a moment to acknowledge, specifically, small businesses that represent a part of this ongoing engagement via our Employee Volunteer Program (EVP) Jumpstart. Nearly every business owner and manager has a goal to give back to the community in which they do business. Our EVP Jumpstart offering helps businesses design and implement, or formalize, their EVP.
In 2018, over 30 local small businesses participated in our quarterly LM Serves Days, just one of the many volunteer opportunities provided by LM’s CVC Program. LM Serves Days offer LM members and partner employees the opportunity to participate in volunteer projects managed by LM. More than 25 local nonprofit organizations benefited from the work and generosity of these small businesses and their employees. Some of the projects have included school supply, coat and toiletry drives for local schools, environmental clean-up at local parks and farms, holiday toy drives and donations for local families.
