Leadership Montgomery Extends Experiential Program Application Deadline

April 22, 2020 | Rockville, Md. – Leadership Montgomery (LM) is extending the submission deadline for applications to its COREEmerging Leaders and Senior Leadership Montgomery  programs to June 1, 2020. The extension is to allow interested applicants ample opportunity to focus on immediate needs amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We at Leadership Montgomery are looking forward to starting the 2021 programs with the county’s best and brightest leaders” said C. Marie Taylor, President and CEO of Leadership Montgomery. “Our goal with this extension is to provide the space for our community to navigate the current situation while planning for the future.”

LM will refund all program application fees to those not accepted into one of the three programs so that applicants can apply with confidence.  Additionally, applicants can apply for tuition assistance at the time of submission while payment plan arrangements can be made with those accepted into the program.

While the world has shifted to virtual communications, LM does not intend to transition the CORE, SLM or EL programs into virtual offerings. Tentatively scheduled to begin in September 2020, the organization plans to postpone the start date of these programs to January 2021 and extend sessions through July 2021 should the federal, state and local guidelines prohibit in-person gatherings in the fall. Tentative dates for both scenarios can be found here.

All applicants are encouraged to submit their program applications sooner than later as acceptance decisions are being made on a rolling basis between now and June 1.
