LEADERSHIP MONTGOMERY TO RECOGNIZE AREA BUSINESSES AT ANNUAL AWARDS LUNCHEON

Rockville, MD | Leadership Montgomery (LM) will hold its Corporate Volunteer Awards Luncheon on January 31, 2020. The annual event recognizes local businesses for their support to the Montgomery County community through employee volunteer engagement. Members of the public were asked to nominate organizations and businesses in one of 5 award categories. Winners were selected by an independent committee consisting of local leaders and previous award winners.

The 2020 award recipients are:

Additionally, the Andrea Jolly President’s Award is presented to one business, organization, or individual for outstanding service in Montgomery County. Named for the founder of the original Corporate Volunteer Council of Montgomery County and chosen by Leadership Montgomery’s President and CEO, C. Marie Taylor, this year’s President’s Award recipient is The Knot Worldwide.

“We are so proud to honor to these organizations that are making a difference through employee volunteerism.” said Taylor. “We hope that by casting a spotlight on their tremendous efforts, more businesses will be inspired to engage their employees and give back to the local community through service.”

This year’s emcee will be Rob Scheer, Founder of Comfort Cases, a Montgomery County-based business whose mission is to bring dignity and hope to youth in foster care. Scheer and his organization have been featured on The Today Show, NBC Nightly News, CNN and Ellen. Michael Leslie Amilcar, President and CEO of Cook Ross will serve as keynote speaker of the event.

Presented by, The Emmes Corporation, Leadership Montgomery’s Corporate Volunteer Awards Luncheon will be held Friday, January 31, 2020 at The William F. Bolger Center in Potomac from 11:30 AM to 2­­:00 PM.
