PROGRAM FAQs
LM’s REAL (Racial Equity Action Leadership) Inclusion Program builds the leadership capacity of organizational teams to operationalize equity by developing a racial equity strategic action plan.
In this six-month program, participants examine their leadership and identities, explore the implications of structural racism that continue to impact communities of color, and apply tools to analyze and address systemic beliefs, practices, policies, and organizational culture perpetuating racial inequities within their organizations. At the end of the program, participants leave with greater knowledge, skills, and confidence to advance racial equity aligned with their organization’s values and goals.
REAL Inclusion is designed as a cohort experience for organizational teams of 2-5 members, including staff from various positions (i.e., executive leadership, middle management, and staff).
We recognize that the work to advance racial equity within organizations exists on a spectrum. Whether your organization is already well along in its racial equity journey or just beginning, REAL Inclusion provides a holistic understanding of how to progress toward operationalizing racial equity. REAL Inclusion is for you if:
- Your organization understands the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion and wants to get specific on how to align its values with action
- You want to act on racial equity within your sphere of influence and don’t know where to start
- Your organization has dedicated time and resources to advance equity, and you seek a collaborative environment to work through opportunities and challenges to advance racial equity in your organization
- You want to build a strong peer network with others committed to this journey to learn, discuss, and act together to advance racial equity
