Because of COVID-19, the Holiday Giving Project may look a bit different, but will nevertheless positively impact the families we serve. With the increasing need, we have also committed to serving an additional 50 families and an additional 100 children this holiday season.

This year, instead of collecting and distributing toys, we will be collecting donations to purchase and distribute gift cards and much needed grocery items in order to maintain safety protocols. Then, with the help of LM volunteers, the Holiday Giving Project will culminate with a contactless delivery party on December 16th. Thanks to our exclusive sponsor, M&T Bank, 100% of donations will go toward serving families.

We are asking you and the rest of the LM network to consider making a financial contribution to support the purchase of these gift cards and grocery staples for each family we serve.

With your help and involvement, we can ensure a successful 2020 Holiday Giving Project meeting our goal of supporting 250 families and 600 children right here in our own community.

About Holiday Giving

For more than 30 years, the Holiday Giving Project of Montgomery County has helped residents in need celebrate Thanksgiving and the December holidays. A coalition of more than 20 non-profits, local governments, and faith groups volunteer to collect and distribute donations of holiday food, gift cards, or toys to Holiday Giving Project recipients by ZIP code. Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services is the coordinating agency for this county-wide effort.

Leadership Montgomery focuses our giving and collection efforts on the 20906 ZIP code, an area of high need in the County. We are proud to partner with Kennedy Cluster Project for these efforts. We will be happy to connect LM Members and Partners with opportunities to support the Holiday Giving Project in other ZIP codes as desired.
