IMPACT COUNCIL

Launched in November 2022, the Business Leaders Impact Council (BLIC) is a collective of businesses across sectors and industries dedicated to enhancing their corporate citizenship. Their goal is to improve their corporate citizenship in a way that benefits both their organizations and the communities they serve.
The mission of BLIC is to connect businesses and build engaged communities to have a collaborative impact in Montgomery County.
BLIC members understand their collective responsibility to promote community wellness and work to address challenges at the intersection of community, employee, and employer needs. Throughout the year, BLIC members can engage in various activities to:
- Network and build community among cross-sector leaders interested in contributing to collective good in Montgomery County and their workplaces, gaining valuable insights and connections.
- Enhance leadership skills and capacity to be effective corporate citizens.
- Contribute thought partnership in CEO roundtables to share expertise and receive peer support on common workplace challenges.
- Raise awareness on local, state, and national issues relevant to the local business community and bring people together to work on solutions.

Why Should I Join BLIC?
All BLIC members gain opportunities to deepen their leadership, support organizational goals to be effective employers, and develop shared common goals and actions that address critical local needs. BLIC members are committed to community well-being and want to invest in sustainable solutions grounded in leadership development, collaborative action, and collective learning.
Who Can Join BLIC?
We welcome businesses of any size. Organizations can be represented by any employee with the ability and interest in creating organizational change.

Professional Development Trainings and Resources
- Topics include developing a corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy, creating employee volunteerism and giving programs, supporting effective employee resource groups (ERGs), implementing community engagement through an equity lens, advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace, and much more!
Investment Levels
- Administration of organizational assessment tools and customized recommendations for Diversity, Equity Inclusion (DEI), Racial Equity, Civic Engagement, or another identified topic
- Exclusive Business Leader Spotlight in LM communication (a guest blog/vlog featured on LM’s website and social media w/assistance and framework provided by LM)
