Sarah Burnett
SENIOR DIRECTOR, PROGRAMS & TRAINING
Sarah Burnett is a nonprofit professional with a background in business administration. Sarah re-joined the team at Leadership Montgomery (LM) in July 2023 as Senior Director, Programs & Training after previously serving as Vice President of Program Operations at Junior Achievement of Greater Washington where she led a team of 20+ program staff in executing K-12 education programs focused on preparing young people to succeed in our global economy. In this role, Sarah led teams through challenges related to the 2020 global pandemic, including reductions in force, transitions to virtual programming, re-staffing and reopening three educational facilities to serve more than 35,000 students and engage more than 6,000 volunteers in the 22-23 school year after 2+ years of virtual operations.
Sarah’s past experience also includes leading corporate engagement programs at LM and serving as the final Executive Director of the Corporate Volunteer Council of Montgomery County (Maryland) before leading the transition of that organization’s programs to Leadership Montgomery.
In her role, Sarah leads a small team to create and deliver impactful programs and trainings for leaders and organizations in Montgomery County and serves on the organization’s management team.
Sarah is a life-long resident of Montgomery County, MD currently living in Chevy Chase. Her education includes Montgomery County Public Schools, Montgomery College and University of Maryland University College.
Sarah serves as president of the Rotary Club of Downtown Silver Spring and on an event planning committee for the Montgomery Coalition for Adult English Literacy.
Sarah’s hobbies include garment sewing, antiquing, reading memoirs, and beta-testing NYT Games.
