Essentials for Nonprofit Board Service
Effective board leadership requires more than a commitment to mission—it calls for a thorough understanding of governance practices and a capacity to foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and inclusivity. This workshop prepares current and aspiring nonprofit board leaders with foundational knowledge and skills essential for effective governance and impactful board service.
Participants will delve into the critical responsibilities of nonprofit boards, including fiduciary and legal responsibilities, fundraising and resource stewardship, and board leadership succession to sustain governance quality. With expert presenters, interactive exercises, and peer discussions, participants will be equipped with actionable insights and tools to foster a high-performing board culture and maximize their impact as board members.

As a result of this workshop, participants will be able to:

- Distinguish board responsibilities from staff functions to foster a collaborative culture needed for organizational effectiveness
- Define and execute core board member responsibilities including:
- Fiduciary and legal responsibilities
