Project Description

LM Class year: Core 2000 (The Y2K New Millennium Class)

Hometown: Commack, NY

Title/Company: Chief Integrated Marketing Director, iHeartMedia DC

Describe what your company does:

iHeartMedia, is the leading media and entertainment company in the U.S., delivering live entertainment to a quarter of a billion consumers each month across multiple platforms. We deliver 3.5 million hours of live programming a year – more than CNN, ESPN or NBC.

iHeartRadio reached almost 70% consumer brand awareness in only three years, making it one of the leading consumer brands in the U.S, reaching 20 million users faster than any digital service in history and 50 million registered users faster than any digital music service – and even faster than Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest. Today, iHeartRadio boasts more than 100 million registered users and growing.

Locally, iHeartMedia owns and operates five of the regions’ favorite radio stations: HOT99.5,   DC101, WMZQ,    WASH and BIG100.

Describe what you do in your role at the company:

As Chief Integrated Marketing Director, I represent some of the nations’ strongest marketing assets including iHeartMedia, iHeartRadio, iHeartMedia Events, iHeartMedia Digital and Social Media, Clear Channel Outdoor and Total Traffic & Weather Network (TTWN) and a variety of granular digital audience assets. My role is to help leverage our assets to build long term win-win sustainable partnerships with businesses that no longer want to keep their story a best kept secret.

Describe your community involvement:

I help non-profit organizations amplify their causes and events. Every year the radio stations positively impact fundraising with events such as WASH Radiothon for Children’s National which recently raised nearly a half million dollars in just 2 days and St. Jude’s Annual Radiothon with WMZQ. We partner with organizations like Fight for Children and Chance for Life.  I personally sit on the board of the Ryan Kerrigan Foundation.

Favorite LM memory:

My favorite memory was when, once upon a time, I published The Gazette of Politics & Business and every year, with the help of my colleague, Stephanie Kempter, published the Annual Leadership Montgomery Report and was able to come up with clever and fun front covers that included LM members for the publication. Most importantly, I was honored to hand deliver a check to LM in access of $10K annually from the publication’s sales proceeds.

Favorite way to spend your free time/recharge:

My favorite way to spend free time / recharge is quality time with my wife and three grown children (nothing better than the Chiet sense of humor). I love going to live music events, many which iHeartMedia produces, playing average golf, and of course exercising while binge watching Netflix.

Name a leader that inspires you:

A leader who will always inspire me is John F. Kennedy who said, “We need men who can dream of things that never were,” when he had the raw vision to shoot for the moon before even he knew it was possible.
